Flat laying is simply arranging your subjects in a laid down position and taking a photo of them in a vertical perspective above. What others would usually call “birds-eye-view”.
Here are some tips for you:

1. Choose a Background.
   – White, black, pastel, wood backgrounds and any color that fits your style are the best for any type of flat lay photos.
2. Choose your Items.
   – It can be your accessories, OOTD, shoes, food, wallet, magazines, books, photographs, flowers, lace, and other stuff.
3. Take your Photo During the Day or if possible, near a natural light source.
   -To prevent shadows cast on the photo when you are taking it from above. Don’t try to take a flat lay at night because there will be an unflattering phone shadow in your photo that even a flash cannot fix it.
4. Put Some Filters.
   – I use VSCO Cam’s Se3 and S3 filters for my coming flat lays and photos. Try also to adjust the temperature, contrast, brightness, exposure, shadow, highlights and saturation of your photo to become better.
5. Have a Space Between your Objects.
   – Make sure that there is enough amount of space between your things to prevent the photo from looking too crowd.

Flat laying is easy but you need to remember these when you're doing a flat lay:
*First, It's a way of expression.
*Second, It shows what kind of person you are.
*Third, Don't be afraid to speak out, a caption can be a big impact to people.
*Fourth, It shows the things that you value. Your flat lay can’t just be a regular flat lay, it could show what you love, what you care about.
*Lastly, It's completely up to you. Make an experiment then if you got that all done. Then you're ready to make a flat lay.
